Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers

I. JOB SUMMARY

Main Topic: Human Geography
Secondary Topic: Environment and Society

Overview: Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Mechanics and Installers specialize in installing or repairing HVACR systems in buildings. HVACR systems manage and regulate temperature and humidity inside all types of buildings. The types of HVACR use are highly variable depending on the user’s geographic location. Customers in the South and Southwest highly depend on the cooling systems in HVACR systems and use their heaters minimally in comparison. On the opposite spectrum: states with temperate climates such as California, Oregon, or even Colorado do not have central Air Conditioning at all, and only have heating systems to use during the more intense winter months.
