Overview: A logistics manager oversees the flow of materials and goods through a business. A logistics manager oversees the warehouse and stocking departments of a business and oversee shipping as well. They must have a knowledge of warehousing, inventory, supply-chain management and transportation to be successful.
Geographers can naturally plan and coordinate tasks, items, and people while thinking spatially. A logistics manager must be able to communicate with a wide variety of people, such as suppliers, customers and manufacturers. Having a geography background would allow a logistics manager to be able communicate with a diverse group of people successfully.
