Overview: A lawyer conducts research on legal issues and interprets laws, regulations, rulings and legal documents. They can also create legal documents such as wills, deeds, contracts, lawsuits and appeals. They can counsel clients and represent them in court. Lawyers need to be research oriented with strong reasoning skills, but also must be able to communicate with a wide range of people and have great interpersonal skills. Geographers would make great lawyers because of their ability to value diversity and interact with a wide range of people while handling a diverse range of issues.
