Overview: A political consultant promotes the election of certain candidates or the interests of certain groups. They help candidates communicate their messages to the public, help them build a public image, respond to negative press, and help secure fundraising. Various human geographers might be interested in this work, but especially those interest in policies, regions, and demographics. A good political consultant is knowledgeable about the region that their candidate is attempting to get elected in, particularly its political and cultural climate as well as the demographics of that region.
